Creed frontman Scott Stapp opened up about his new solo tour and spoke about how he has been dealing with his struggles and what his life has been like since relocating to Nashville.
The 43-year-old Scott Stapp is the longtime frontman of veteran rock band Creed which is known for such smash hits as ‘With Arms Wide Open.’ His most recent solo album, ‘Proof of Life’ of 2013 spawned such hits as ‘Slow Suicide’ and was a chronicle of his personal struggles. He made headlines a couple of years ago which he went public with his financial perils and mental health issues.
Now he has announced a new solo tour — you can see the full itinerary below — which includes stops in both North America and South America. He said in an interview with Billboard, “I’m feeling great.” Elaborating, he went on to say, “It’s great to be doing what I love and it’s great to be able to get a new creative outlet and make new music with Art of Anarchy, working on new solo material and continuing the tour and doing what I love.”
As for the kind of music fans can expect to hear he said he’ll be playing “almost all of the Creed songs that the fans have come to know over the years, and favorites off my Proof of Life [2013 solo] album.”
Elaborating, he went on to say, “We are definitely going to be changing up the set with some acoustic moments, and just bringing a big rock show…That is what we do. We try to bring a big rock show wherever we go.”
He also opened up about his struggles with bipolar disorder and spoke about how relocating to Nashville has benefited him. He said, “”Nashville has been awesome… I love working with other artists and writing.” Elaborating, he added, “I have spent a lot of time when I am home with my family, and going to baseball games and soccer games and doing family stuff. Then I try to get in the rounds of writing sessions, not only for myself but for other artists. It has been a good new place to call home. It is good for my career and awesome for my family.”
