There are wardrobe malfunctions, yes, and there are, shall we say, flirtations with same. The 42-year-old Amy Adams, fortunately didn’t make headlines for such a mishap, but this was very much a near miss. Just one wind gust or sudden turn and she would have shown the world a bit more than she’d intended.

The Grecian-inspired floor-length gown with a neckline plunging to her waistline is a Valentino Haute Couture. While all eyes might be scanning for a nip slip, the dress also has a beautiful silver-metallic motif at the hemline.

Amy Adams walked the red carpet at Leicester Square with her ‘Arrival’ co-star Jeremy Renner who of course was vastly upstaged. The science fiction thriller directed by sees her portraying a linguist, Dr. Louise Banks. As the title hints, she is enlisted to communicate extraterrestrial life paying planet Earth a visit, in a spacecraft.

As she promotes the movie, the actress who rose to fame in 1999 with her film debut in ‘Drop Dead Gorgeous’ — and has portrayed the iconic Lois Lane in both Man of Steel and Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice — is among the women covering this year’s ELLE magazine ‘Women in Hollywood’ issue. She tells the publication of her early struggle to success during her twenties which, let’s face it, is that decade of life that gives Hollywood actresses the most varied roles although slowly, that is changing.

She says, “I wasn’t working, and I wasn’t happy. I kept trying different acting techniques, like, I’d try to act like the actresses who were getting hired. I thought maybe then I’d get a job.:

Continuing, she adds, “I spent the majority of my twenties trying to figure out who I was and where I fit in, not just in Hollywood, but also in the world. It took me a long time to sort of find my own voice.”
