The 2016 American Music Awards nominees have been announced and Drake has set a record with 13 nominations. He’s followed by Rihanna with seven nods. Get the full list and all the details of the upcoming annual awards show right here!

Yes, it’s that time of year again, as the American Music Awards will celebrate achievement in pop music. Earlier this year, Drake released his long awaited album, ‘Views.’ Not only did it clock numerous weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and receive nearly universal critical acclaim. And of course, his international smash hit ‘Hotline Bling’ has become a cultural phenomena with a video that has racked up nearly a billion views on YouTube.

Now, Drake has garnered 13 nods from the AMAs this year including Artist of the Year and Favorite Album. That’s unprecedented in the 43-year history of the awards first established in 1973 by the late great ‘American Bandstand’ icon Dick Clark. He broke a 32-year record; it was none other than the late great King of Pop, Michael Jackson, who, in 1984 received 11 nominations.

As noted, Rihanna has seven nominations, and she’s followed by Adele and Justin Bieber who have five nods each and they’re followed by Beyoncé and The Chainsmokers who each have four nods.

The awards ceremony takes place on November 20th; you can see the full list of nominees bwlow. Check back on November as we’ll update with the winners!
